New Indian LCC, SpiceJet goes Boeing

I thought I’d bring attention to a part of this article that was linked to on another thread.

Boeing Co. said on Wednesday it will sell 10 737-800 planes to Royal Airways Ltd. for $630 million for the Indian airline’s new discount carrier, SpiceJet, and saw more such deals ahead.

A lot of people were expecting Airbus to win the LCC’s order. I did too. I thought the order for 737s from AI meant any new order elsewhere would definately be airbus. I guess the Indians aren’t so predictable after all.
