“She said she had been camping in Ayrshire the night before the flight. She’d been bitten on the bottom by a cleg which was still attached to her buttock, and she wondered if someone could help her remove it before the flight took off!

“You don’t find that kind of thing in the training manual! So I called for a first aider who took her into a side room, and quickly removed it with a pair of tweezers. She was very grateful and went off to catch her flight. But the whole thing was hilarious and was the talk of the steamie for weeks afterwards. So you could say we got to the bottom of her problem!”
