Another Blimmin' MAN 1/8/06 Thread……..

As you’ve probably gathered by now, we had a small get-together at Manchester yesterday. Nice to see all of you who turned up. 🙂

Dan seems to think that the weather wasn’t very nice…….

It stopped raining eventually. Well mostly, anyway. (Can you see the rainbow? 😉 )

Thanks a lot, chaps. 🙂

Oddly enough, Kevin, I still haven’t got a decent shot of A7-AEG (the red one).

Wouldn’t have thought the pop-up flash was much use!
Last time mine popped up in such low light conditions, I cranked up the ISO instead.
What kind of lens is that, by the way?

The flash does work if you’re not shooting aircraft! If you experiment it’s actually surprising just how effective the flash on the 350D is outdoors, even during the day, but that’s the kind of thing being strange and wandering around the garden at all hours with your camera teaches you! Note the lens hood is removed to avoid the shadow it casts on such a big lens when using the flash.

Also I shoot almost exclusively in aperture or shutter priority, so the flash only appears when I want it to. As far as ISO is concerned, anything more than 400 gives un-acceptable amounts of grain to my eyes!

By the way, the lens is a Sigma 50-500DG!

Superb shots Lance, except the one of that fat bloke with the big lens. Who on earth is he?

I was at Man last night picking Son and his Girl Friend up after their flight back from Mauritius.
They went out on a A340 and came back on a 747- his coments was the 747 was like a cattle truck- A340 was great.
They flew Man to Paris then on to Mauriritus.
Oh reason I’m posting is cos the weather Wednesday afternoon was crap, very big down pour.

Excellent photos. I really like all these special liveries that Qatar are applying to advertise Doha 2006.
