BritishJet to start up

The 1st Maltese low cost airline who I am pretty sure has something to do with Malta Bargains, starting flights with MD90s (Interesting choice!) to Manchester 4 times a week, East Midlands, Birmingham and Leeds Bradford weekly.

Nice to see them at LBA, according to the LBA group, the LBA-Larnaca flight has been reinstated operated by Astraeus for Olympic Holidays with timings nearly identical to last years MyTravel flight, departing about 4 Sunday evening, returning about 1 the following morning.

I imagine that if any new routes are announced for HUY,LBA, MAN wherever, they will be announced when the winter schedule for 2K6 is released next month.

No offence to MAN, but I really hope this happens! It would be terrific news for HUY, and I would also love to see VLC and BUD operated from LBA. Any news on TFS? Will it be announced when the winter schedule is announced in May?

Didnt LBA have B747’s to YYZ via BHX in the late 1980’s

Yes, of Wardair Canada on a friday if my memory is correct – a Canada flight would again work from LBA – it was pulled around the decline after 9/11

The LCY/INV rumours are interesting – a new route north, and a consolidation of the southbound route – possably with transit pax from INV as opposed to the EZY/BA services? A SAAB 2000 would be a nice change from the EZE JS41s and 32s buzzing about!

Be informed that eastern airways are to codeshare with bmi regional and operate flights to London city with a saab 2000 aircraft. Instead of that ATR42 manchester advertisement.

The flights will operate 2 to 3 times daily with onward flights upto Inveness where the aircraft would be based

operating as follows
INV – LBA – LCY – LBA – INV

Wouldnt that make for crap timings? Say the flight set off from INV at 07:00, wouldnt get to LBA till about 8, depart around 8:45 getting to LCY for just before 10, wouldnt work at all for business pax….

Eastern and bmi have tried codesharing before and ended up falling out big time after only a few weeks! Remember when Eastern started the MAN-INV and MAN-DND runs, they were bmi codeshare for a few weeks.

I’m very surprised about this, they aren’t known for being the best of buddies, what with bmi starting the EMA-ABZ just to spite Eastern etc.
