Having previously announced that the Saab 340s are to be disposed of, Aurigny have now said they will also dispose of their Shorts 360s as part of an ongoing programme to simplify the airline.
They are also to acquire an ATR 42 to operate alongside the 3 ATR 72s, giving a fleet of 4 ATRs and 7 Trislanders.
I understand the move from a business point of view, but the Shorts has been a good aircraft for Aurigny, and is one of my favourites so for me personally it’s a bit of a shame.
It was also announced in December that Aurigny’s owners, the States of Guernsey government are seeking a buyer for the airline which has not been performing well in the face of fierce competition on island and mainland routes.
