TAP and Portugalia to merge???

Media reports suggest that TAP Air Portugal and Portugalia may be talking about a potential merger of the two carriers.

According to a report from Semanario Economico and picked up by Agence France Presse (AFP) last week, the two airlines are in the “final stages” of talks to merge.

State-owned TAP, a member of the Star Alliance, already has a codeshare agreement with Portugalia. Portugalia operates Fokker 100s, Saab 2000s, Embraer ERJ-145s and Beech 1900s from Portugal to destinations throughout Western Europe
