Dutchbird to stop flying airbusses.

Since Dutchbird was taken over by the Exel group a decision was made to end the lease of its Airbus A320s earlier than planned. Instead the airline will use its fleet of Boeing 757s and is looking to add 4 Boeing 737-400s in the not so distant future.

The 2 A320s have already been flown to storage at Nimes, France.

So once again Boeing holds the monopoly on big jets in the Netherlands. Airbus seems to have a very hard time getting a foothold here. Dutchbird and VBird lost their A320s. Schreiner (A300Fs some years ago) went bankrupt. Only KLM managed to keep their A310s for more than a few years, though even that was not an all-out success.
