Reading in the Daily Mail today and i came across a story about CDG police losing a block of Plastique explosive on a training exercise… apparently the police placed the said item in a suitcase for the snifferdog to find, but the snifferdog failed in it’s duty, and the police have no idea where the suitcase ended up! 😮

Knowing the Americans love of the French equal only to ourselves, I am sure they are fully aware of the situation, and ready to rub it in Chiracs face as soon as they discover the explosives on a “poor, terrified, victimised innocent American citizen, whose freedoms and liberities have been so apalling tarnished” etc etc.

Somehow I doubt that you’d get the chance to say very much at all before they carted you off to Guantanamo Bay or somewhere equally appalling.

Haw anyone considered that the bag may now be back in the hands of its owner?
I feel sorry for the poor pax whos gonna open his/her case and find C-4 in it.
Worse still, what if they get tagged at a security check and falsely accused of conspiracy of terrorism.
God forbid! think about it. Found red handed with Plastique… theres no way out of that one. No one will beleive their story.

Will the pax be able to claim for a new suitcase & contents as there are likely to be traces of explosives left which will should set off all sort of alarms when travelling (esp to the USA)
Did they not think to a) use a non pax suitcase b) take note of pax details/flight etc – in the words of Homer Simpson – D’OH!

It’s not exactly the story.
This block of plastic was placed in a pax luggage for sniffing dogs practice.
After a first dog passed his test , they left the luggage unattended while the were getting an other dog.
In the mean time the luggage had been replaced in the luggage dispatching process and when the cops came back the luggage was gone.
However this is an unacceptable failure and I guess the cops are in trouble ……
