Opinions of KLM short haul?

Hi guys,
i’ve just booked a return KLM flight on the MAN-AMS route. I’ve never used KLM before to AMS (only BMA back in the 90’s and BA in 2003 😮 :D)
I’m just wondering, how is their service?
I’m getting a F100 of Cityhopper to AMS, and a 737 of Mainline back.
Opinions?

Just flew KLM today, ARN-AMS-ARN with 737-300 and 737-800 and was pleasantly surprised considering I had small expectations. Friendly crew and free triangular sandwich with soft drinks or coffee/tea. Certain Scandinavian airlines now charge €2 for coffee or water and €3 for a sandwich in their new “refreshed” economy class, which is embarassing.

Seats were about average, but if you want a window seat make sure you don’t get one in row 6 on the 737-300 or row 8 in the 737-800 as the air conditioning ducts from the engines run there and thus there are no windows at those rows. Leg room was sufficient for me, 180 cm tall, and the cabins were generally in a fresh condition.

There are no problems with easyJet.

I used to fly every week, twice a week with them, and they certainly do have their problems!

If things get bad just imagine you could be on Easyjet,Ryanair or Aer Lingus.

Yeah, I guess he could, but if he were to fly with any of the above (maybe not Aer Lingus), he would be flying them at a fraction of the price.

There are no problems with easyJet.

I’ve flown on KLM 67 times in the past 4 years and would say the service within Europe has declined but is about average now compared with other carriers. You get more legroom than the locos and a snack(usually roll/sandwich & drink) but the a/c are generally older and in worse condition inside than BMI/BA a/c. The seats are also very basic ie. no leather or adjustable headrests etc. The F70s are usually not too bad but the F100s(all ex-KLM UK) really need a re-fit inside. Many B737s are well used and similar to F100s. You may be lucky and get a B737-800/900 on the AMS-MAN sector.
