KLM Boeing 744 Lighting strike

Was sitting in my office (Hoofddorp near AMS) this morning, around 11.00AM, and saw a KLM 744 flying overhead. While doing this -while raining cats and dogs- I think I saw lighting strike. Anyone heard about this incident?

Yeah I know, well I was at the phone at the time so I wasn’t paying attention but I saw a flash and the immidiate crack and my college’s said it did strike so I persume it did.

But yeah no crash but I was wondering if it turned back to Schiphol or I did fly on to it’s destination and no damage was done. Aircraft are indeed build to cope with it but you never know and at least it should have a mark on the impact shouldn’t it?

It should have taken of from runway 060 (Buitenveldertbaan) which in itself is unusual.

Did you happen to see it actually ‘strike the aircraft’? Even if the aircraft did get struck by lightening, there’s a very small chance that it damaged the aircraft. Aircraft are built to cope with issues like these, the cabin would have just turned purple for a second and that it would be gone.
