Not good news from my favourite little yellow airline.
On top of the recent announcement that they are withdrawing services from Jersey to Alderney and Jersey to Dinard, Aurigny today announced the following changes.
Guernsey to East Midlands, withdrawn.
Guernsey to Bournmouth, withdrawn.
Guernsey to Bristol, frequency reduced.
Alderney to Southampton, frequency reduced.
Jersey to Bournmouth, withdrawn.
Jersey to Bristol, withdrawn.
As a result the Saab fleet will be withdrawn from use, and 13 ground staff will be laid off.
Management are stating that these measures, a result of a recent review of all operations, are forward planning rather than the result of problems at the airline.
I hope so.

As well as the SAAB’s, one of the SD£-60’s is going as well.

If these routes havent worked for Aurigny, why would another airline want to start them?
Maybe another airline can make them work with different service, aircraft etc.

My view on replacements
Guernsey to East Midlands, no replacement
Guernsey to Bournmouth, Rockhopper increase service
Guernsey to Bristol, flybe or Air Southwest add service
Jersey to Bournmouth, Rockhopper add service
Jersey to Bristol, flybe/Air Southwest increase frequencyWhat about STN/LGW

Don’t Rockhopper already serve St Breiuc?

It’s sad (and a shock!) that Aurigny have dropped routes 😡 😮
There will also be a new service between Jersey and Dinard with Rockhopper.
I’ve heard nothing about the Stansted or Gatwick routes.
