Accidently posted on the trip reports thread. Sorry bout dat.
So a new show started last night on this side of the pond. It’s similar to Trump’s Apprentice, however, it’s Richard Branson “interviewing” potential candidates to take his job (whatever). The interviews consist of business tasks and dare devil stunts to see who stays and who goes. The best part? They’re at Heathrow twice an episode boarding an A346 via air stairs. The loser and the runner up are at the bottom of the stairs where Branson gives them the nod or the wave more or less. Then they take off for parts unknown to complete their next task. Last night was Hong Kong.
Their task was to find a new service for Virgin Upper Class within 24 hours and with $500USD. The winner was a neat pillow, chinese fortune cookie with cleaver message a la Virgin inside and a mirror to place with their private tvs.
When they show the establishing shots, one had the 346 taking off, cut to something, come back on a BA airbus (I nearly choked–as did Branson I’m sure) then to a VIrgin 744, then an Amecian 767 then back to the 346. So much for the feud.
Interesting man, no doubt.
Brilliant marketing for Virgin to get the name familliar to Americans when he launches his no frills state side.
Thought you may like to know.
