Yay – 748s! Nice snaps!

‘G-BCOE’ was the first aircraft I ever flew in but my second flight in a BAW Viscount (GLA-ABZ) was much better, those cabin windows were HUGE!

Excellent pictures Kaplan! I do like the BA viscount shots and the Dan Air 748 pic is great. Nice to see you got the scanner working again. 🙂

Calibration in the UK is done by FR Aviation/Flight Precision./Chobham leasing. I’m not sure if they solely use the Beech 200s or not though?

The Dan-air 748 brings back memories, flew on one from BHX-MAN-BHX in about 1975. Love the Heralds, always thought them nicer than the F-27’s. Grew up with Viscounts flying overhead several times a day so had a soft spot for them.

The RAF’s Andovers were longer I think and the aircraft ‘knelt’ down at the rear to allow easier unloading through the rear cargo entrance. Much in the same way as an old Citroen does.
