buT i have one thing. I was in Tampa last year and they evacuated the whole of down town Tampa and palm harbour and the coastal parts much even before the damn thing even hit the coast.
Not a single chopper was there for 24 hours after the hurricane hit new orleans. Everybody new the dykes could not sustain a category 4 hurricane
Yes, Hurricane Charlie (Category 4) was projected to hit Tampa last summer and all of downtown was evacuated. As a matter any low lying area within 100 miles were. As it turn out the Hurricane turn Northeast and went throught the center of the state. Missing most major cities. Yet, still casuing hundreds of millions of dollars. Funny, that New Orleans was so unprepared? I would think the odds of a Hurricane hitting New Orleans would be “much” greater than Tampa. That said, down in the Gulf of Mexico yoou hear so many Hurricane Warnings and most turn out to be nothing………….. :rolleyes:
