Emirates advertises that even in economy passengers may enjoy “Top inflight entertainment” with eighteen channels of video programes
One of those channels offers the view outside either the nose or belly mounted video camera, which has the residents of Dormansland, Surrey, near Gatwick Airport, rather upset
They claim the downward looking cameras are an invasion of their privacy and want them turned off.
An Emirates spokesperson defended the practise, countering that the view of the Alps is spectacular.
Well yes, but not as spectacular as Mrs Jones sunbathing in her yard apparently
Any opinions about the use of these cameras?????????

If they’re so concerned, perhaps they should put a roof over the garden, just to prevent any prying eyes.

I spent a while looking at the video pictures from the fin camera and the belly camera on the A346 on the way here to Tokyo and there’s no way you could make out a street let alone anything going on in a back garden. It’s only good for taxying and monitoring the outside of the aircraft in flight.

How pathetic….
Just people who need to complain about something, as Sandy said all people will see is a 2 to 3 second blur of whoever is sitting in the garden if anyone…..?
I would hounestly be more pre-occupied with the actual landing as would nearly every other passanger on the aicraft. It provides fantastic views for passangers onboard, all i can say is you shoudn’t of brought a house near or under the flightpath of a major international airports runway like LGW, the buyers obviously knew this when purchasing thier house.

Invasion of privacy indeed, all pax will see is a 2 to 3 second shot of a blur of colour as they fly over head.
Those people need to get a grip.
