Trijets are my fave, I worry dearly that they may soon become extinct. There arent too many around these days. I hope very much that a manufacturer may produce another trijet.
I love them all, the DC10, MD11, 727, Tristar, Tu154.

I guess that many among us agree : “Fly DC jets ” 🙂
Errr…. No, I try and avoid DC10’s like the plague. After my flight from hell to Mexico in ’96 🙁

I love G-BYDA. I hope that we continue to have this one DC10 operating on the UK register. That aircraft warms my heart every time I see it at Manchester. I am in love with it!

Long live the DC10! Glad that they will be around for a while yet.

KLM will keep them for at least two more years. Finnair is also very happywith them and added one more a few months back.

Indeed very sad, lets hope G-BYDA keeps going for a bit longer yet. I flew a Tristar back in 1998 and loved it. A shame that the airlines have preference for twin jets, but they must be more efficient.
BTW – Isnt the last Swiss MD11 flight this month? Lets hope KLM, Thai and Varig keep theres going in PAX service for a bit longer.

Apart from the Jak-42 and the various Dassault jets, the tri-jet is a thing of the past when we look at new built jets.
Legacy jets like the DC-10 and MD-11 will be around for some time.

I don’t invariably disagree with everything you say (just sometimes the way you say it).

I agree with Sandy. New designs will include a small number of quads but mostly twins.
You feeling ok? actually agreeing with me ?? 😉
