That gold emblem thingy really makes that livery

I will Third Grey Areas emotion, what has your opinions (Sorry moan) about politicians got to do with this thread? It is getting INCREDIBLY annoying that you seemingly have to hijack every thread.

I wasnt a fan of Donald Dewar or his politics Im afraid. They didnt waste much time erecting a statue, Im sure he is looking down with pride as he striked me as a very self-important man. Surely he didnt get a state funeral did he? He was only a politician not Robbie Burns, does that mean when Malcolm Riffkind or Alex Salmon passes on they will be afforded the same and given a statue in their honour?
Obviously the significance of Donald Dewar is lost on you.
The first “First Minister” for scotland in over 200 years!

I will second Grey Area’s emotion.
Now, does anyone else find it terrible that you can’t get free tickets on bmibaby, not that I’d ever use a no frills for a holiday or flying on or anything……. even if the phone was engadged (sic) for twenty minutes.
Regards,

danairboy, I think I can safely say that I speak for many others in this forum when I suggest that if you don’t have anything worth saying, or any positive contribution to make, then you should at least spare us your constant griping, carping and moaning.
Thank you.

Specs are still there, looking a bit rough mind ya. Hey Sandy here’s an idea, how about a Scottish livery based on Alaskan with a picture of Don on the tail ?
By: RIPConcorde - 18th September 2004 at 14:36
The “don” passed away after slipping on a kerbstone and falling onto the ground, he’d been taking an anti blood clotting drug following heart surgery, which apparently made a seemingly simple jolt to the system fatal ?
He was given a “state” funeral at Glasgow Cathedral attended by the great and the good from all over. I was one of about twenty cameramen broadcasting it live across the world. You must have been having yer tea at the time Danairboy? (lol) 😀
Such was his popularity, he now has his own statue in Glasgow’s Buchanan Street…
I see that in that pic, the obligitary cone is missing from the top of his head, and his glasses are intact…. 😉

I didnt know he had passed away. I apologise. He wasnt exactly them most frugal politician though was he. At least youve still got Helen Liddell (hate her!) and Malcolm Riffkind (heard he is making a comeback, you lucky people)

You Scots would be better with Jeanette Krankie than that Dewar!
Not that it’s even nearly funny about Donald Dewar being dead (God rest his soul), but come on Danairboy, if you’re going to slag people off, make sure they are alive first! 😡 😡 😡
By: Bmused55 - 18th September 2004 at 01:30

For one good reason
He’s dead for crying out loud!

Lets hope Donald Dewar doesnt get to run it
?! 😮 Sarcasm?
By: danairboy - 18th September 2004 at 00:41
Very topical. Caledonian is an awfully good name for a Scottish carrier! Lets hope Donald Dewar doesnt get to run it, or Helen Liddell or Malcolm Riffkind or any of the other awful politicians you Scots have had to endure!

And then being told the aircraft would be cheaper based
exclusively at Glasgow.? 😮
By the Scottish Executive ? surely not ? (lol) 😀

Lovely Livery there Sandy, I love the first one!
By: Whiskey Delta - 17th September 2004 at 21:13
I like the tartan line in the first one. Nice touch.

Funny you should say that.
I’m in touch with a man planning on starting up an airline. He visited EDI to talk to BAA and they were pushing GLA very hard.
