well MyTravels B757-200’s seem to always be delayed for some techinal reason or another but thats because they are some of the first off the production line.
We cant say the same about thomas cooks aircraft because they are much younger.

I really find that hilarious Dusseldwarf.

I just hope my flight to Luxor on the A300 next Easter isn’t too badly delayed.
It’s already delayed by two days!! :diablo: :diablo:

blame the recent delays on the age of the aircraft, the B752’s are young, or thats what we would be saying if it was My Travel, i just cant understand whats happening at Thomas Cook.

Why aren’t the A330s getting painted?!
By: Wingflaps2 - 15th September 2004 at 22:07
That’s because the ownership costs on the A300 are low these days, as the aircraft are now owned outright by the company (although maintenance costs are higher due to age and reliability).
The other two A300s are due to be painted during this coming winter season, as well as the rest of the B757s, A321s and A320s, but not the A330s.
G-MONR and G-MONS will operate in a two class configuration this winter.

Yet they are still spending money on the A300s on upgrades and painting the new design on them.

I work for Monarch, and believe you me, we have our fair share of delays. We try and offload to other airlines though to protect the passengers against big delays.
The A300 is a large contributor to our delays – it is too unreliable.

Monarch and Excel seem to be the only majors with no major delays
Is that why Monarch have just come bottom of the latest stats released? All airlines have delays, sometimes major.
I saw this delay on Ceefax, was awful!

I know the aircraft in the FCA incident was G-OOBH, I too would like to know what happened.

Gordon Bennet! What was actually wrong with the engine, do you know?
By: cheesebag - 15th September 2004 at 20:45
Thomas Cook seem to be lagging behind a bit nowadays. Sounds similar to the FCA delay while I was in Arrecife, they had to bring in a whole new engine from Manchester!
The FCA 752 was there from thursday till Sunday, an Antonov did indeed fly in a complete engine.
I watched from the dirttrack by 03 as they engine tested on the Thursday, also on the sunday evening.

Excel had an 88 hour delay on the Manchester-Porlamar flight (using G-BOPB) due to TF-ATU having technical problems, and then G-BOPB having technical problems so only Monarch haven’t had a major delay.

First choice dont have many delays…
