Sunny lunchtime at BSL

been ages since I was up at BSL taking Pics, so I set out this afternoon to try and get the Aer Lingus A320 taking the RoI squad back to Dublin after last night’s 1-1 draw with Switzerland in the World Cup Qualifiers at the ST. Jakob Park here in Basel. It was, however, nowehere to be seen, and I just missed a Islandsflug 737 taking supporters home as I parked by the runway. Oh well, I could take pics of ‘normal’ traffic, anyway.

1) Air France (by Rรฉgional) F100 F-GIOG arriving on 16 from CDG.
2) Gulfstream taxi-ing out to 16.

At this point, the wind changed, and 34 became active runway, leaving me with rotten views, such as
3) easyJet 737 from LPL vacating the runway, taken with a full 12x Optical Zoom. ๐Ÿ˜ก

So I’d almost given up and was heading for home, when I found a sidestreet that offered some views of the runway/Terminal across fields. Unfortunately, the sun was almost dead behind me, so I had some problems with Glare, and consequently have had to play a fair bit with the brightness/contrast on these…

4) F-GIOG taking back to the Skies bound for CDG, in front of an LH Avro being prepared for it’s flight back to FRA.
5) The easyJet 737 heads back to 34, passing FedEx a A310, as well as The Freight Terminal, and, with the red squares on top, Swiss HQ (the former Crossair building).
6) almost as soon as the Liverpool 737 had left, the Stansted easyJet 737 landed, seen here on 34 with thrust reversers engaged.
7) and here she is taxi-ing back in again.

Actually, talking of easyJet here at Basel, in Tuesday, they signed a 10 year tennancy agreement which will see them getting a dedicated check-in area. Which surely means lots more flights are planned here ๐Ÿ˜€ .

I told you by text message… I don’t have a scooby what happened to it. I’m told it was EI-DEA. (follow link for photo of her). http://www.worldairnews.ch/images/2004/AerLingus_A320_EIDEA.JPG

And the Islandsflug 734 I just missed (I blame the cement mixer I got stuck behind that was crawling along the road). http://www.worldairnews.ch/images/2004/AviaJet_B737_TFELZ.JPG
