There were the ‘Red Sheds’ of Air Ecosse – G-RMSS & G-DATA I think (and why can I remember things like that and not my wedding anniversay? – sad!)

G-OPFW is operated in “Skynet” Parcelforce colours,
G-BEJE used to be operated in “Skynet” Royal Mail colours, before her retirement in 1997. She was use dwidley in the early 1990s for royal mail advertising on TV.

Other customer aircraft of Emeralds include G-OSOE in Securicor Omega, G-BVOU in Lynx and G-ORAL in Reeds.

Brit World also used to have a Viscount in Parcelforce colours too…

I used to see that a lot at IOM. I have stopped taking all these painful early morning flights now though, so not sure if it still operates there.

And yet the system is still better than most others in the world.

BA have the royal mail crest on a lot of their aircraft.

Eww..! 🙁

Mind you, our postal system is something to be proud of. What more could you want than a company who doesn’t deliver First Class post the following day (like it should) and a company who even loses recorded mail (like they do)?

Titan have some long term contracts for night-time mail with the post office, just as did various airlines (748s of Emerald, Bandierantes of Air Ecosse, etc) in the past. Its fairly reasonable that the airline paints its airplane in the colours of the company it operates for.

There’s been various planes in Royal Mail schemes over the years. I think there may still be a HS 748 “doing the rounds” ? Emerald’s I think ?

I vividly remember those from a few years ago. F27s stick in my mind as well – can’t remember the operator.

It’s a nice livery but I think it’s missing some titles.
