Livery for SAS Braathens presented

The management of newly formed SAS Braathens in Oslo today presented the livery which will be worn by all 52 former SAS and Braathens 737-400/-500/-600/-700/-800s in the new merged airline.

According to the Norwegian press release, the aircraft will gradually be repainted at the former Braathens maintenance base at Stavanger.

Just when I thought the SAS livery couldn’t get any worse… this comes along. It looks awful.

That’s a nice design. It looks quite ‘old’ if you get what I mean? A class-looking colour scheme.

and thats exactly what I wanted it to look like.

retro

Mission accomplished 😀

What we need, is accountants who care for their employees, can deliver a sound business plan that calls for a excellent service to their customers, and accountants which can turn ina profit at the end of the year…

Put it this way: when you train as an accountant, all your exams are tilted towards the “stakeholder” view: try and keep everyone happy. Then in your finals, you’re told to forget all that P.C. codswallop and protect your shareholders! A view which, incidentally, is a legal requirement if you’re familiar with the Companies Act.

Be that as it may, nobody will get anywhere buy ignoring staff and customers, as in the long term such a focus on costs/profits will lead to lower shareholder returns. What is needed is balance and good judgement.

I hate the current SAS livery and this is such a shame that Braathens have got sucked into this. Bring back the cheatline??

😀 Anything is better than the current livery of SAS…

very true.

I’ll bash out more ideas today. I will admit the first design was rushed.

Nice, but I know you can do better! I’m thinking cheatlines… I’m thinking brighter colours… with a viking theme… get my drift? 😉

I blame the beancounters 😡

The sooner real people are back in control of airlines in stead of accountants, the better

If accountants ran more airlines the world would be a better place!

Im glad they kept the name Braathens instead of calling it SAS Norway. Braathens has a proud history and has long been known both in Norway and Europe.

Excellent point, but the livery is very uninspired.

Just means less repainting to do on the aircraft already in SAS colours, and they only have to paint over 25 or so older 737s.

That fact was not lost on me.

You’re right , it’s surely the reason , but jeez , what a lack of imagination….
