Well, to continue where that locked thread left off.
It would seem CO have not got much slack in their widebody fleet. Meaning that they don’t seem to have the aircraft to operate EDI-EWR with a 762.
Also, according to CO, their international configured 762’s only have 2 (yes TWO) more seats than their 757’s! The real difference though is that the 762 has 25 or 26 biz class seats as opposed to the 757’s 15 or 16.
So the likelyhood of an upgrade isn’t much. Unless of course they shift things around. With the 767-400 coming off the GLA service, they can place that on another route that could free up a 762 or 763 for the EDI service. But for such a relatively young service, I think that would be pushing it.
One more angle though. I can’t find data on CO’s 777 utilisation. 😉 Now that would be an UPGRADE 😀

interesting
The test boring never encountered problems, let’s hope the EARL (Edinburgh Airport Rail Link) reaches fruition. 😎
No threatened wildlife either, not counting chuck-out time
at the nearest pub in Kirkliston!

thats possible.
A twice daily departure would be cool 😀

I don’t think we will be seeing COA 777’s at EDI, certainly not for a transatlantic flight. I think the most likely will be a 763/764 service, if anything another B752 as previously stated!
Illustrative BAA plans for EDI can be found here:Go To ‘thumbnails/FC39’

Mmm 777, could be a posibility, but they cant steal MAN’s 777 OK!
No worries on that front! Anything bigger than a DC-10 on a regular basis seems a no-no given the lack of suitable
facilities. 😡

Can I ONCE AGAIN remind contributors that a responsible MATURE attitude to posting is required.
Playground style spats and bickering are NOT what people want to read about on an aviation forum.
Now please get back to talking aviation and no wailing…
Thank you !

I worked that out 😉

Hehe 😀

😀 good idea, tho i dunno how u’ll get it out of the AVP without someone hearing it!
I’ll set a few GLA neds onto it.
They can nick the engine from your car as you stop at the traffic light without you noticing, so nicking Concorde should be simple. LOL
Then again, Edinburgh Neds are getting better.

Simple, we’ll nick Concorde from Manchester… LMAO

thats possible.
A twice daily departure would be cool 😀
But how would you get back in time from the first one in order to catch the second one? (lol). 😮

That’s true, but the MAN loads are high, and so are EDI’s! I say add another 757 like they have done at BHX?
