Agreed, lets disagree.

I totaly disagree.
It serves as a tribute, a reminder, a lament. Very fitting. Surrounded by pictures of that terrible day.Are you suggesting we deny the events ever happened? Because if we hide the remnants of that day that is exactly what we will be doing. And in so doing we would insult the memory of the victims.
We’ll have to agree to disagree in that case. I disapprove because the event is so recent in history and an item like that could cause an awful lot of emotional trauma for a victim’s family, friends or anyone else still profoundly effected by the events of 9/11.
Especially so as the item is a twisted, burnt out piece of fuselage which instantly evokes mental images of the fiery, inescapable end those people met that day.
And before you say, the victims families don’t have to go to the Intrepid Museum if they don’t want to, then yes that’s true. But as long as there’s pictures like that kicking around they don’t need to. How long before there’s magazines features, tv programmes and dare I say it e-bay auctions featuring so called 9/11 relics ?
“Am I suggesting we deny the events ever happened” ? No, I’m certainly not but there are more tasteful ways of remembering them IMHO.

Seems a little insensitive putting that on display I think ? Not sure I even agree with Titanic artefacts going in museums ?

9/11 will live on as a day of infamy long into the annals of history

But how many aviation museums are filled full of aircaft that killed or were shot down/crashed that resulted in killing the pilot/crew? It seems another relic is pulled from the back woods yearly to be restored or displayed in some manner.

It appears that it is part of a display on board the USS Intrepid museum in NYC. I never knew that they had a 9/11 display there. I wonder what artifacts they have.
