"Aha!!" moments

I reckon I must’ve been a slow child, but I remember at age 7 or 8 when I started realizing that those elaborate logos actually mean and signify something. I felt like quite the Sherlock Holmes 🙂

A few are presented here:

😮 SAS’s raised strip is actually a viking ship
😮 Air-India’s tail design is in the shape of an Indian boat sail
😮 That curvy design for PIA actually says: PIA
😮 The Thai logo is actually a stylized Thai dancer’s head
😮 Malaysia’s logo is actually a Malaysian Kite

Did I miss any other “aha’s” ?!

Took me about a year to realise the TUi logo actually spelt TUi.

God, how thick am I! 🙂

Where are you getting that one from?

This is what the airline say about their logo:

THAI’s distinctive livery…

I’ve only recently read the “official” explanation on the Thai logo (as in two weeks ago). At the age of 8, I remember standing outside the Royal palace in Bankok and listening with fascination to the guide explaining how the traditional Thai design gets reflected in everything “Thai” -even the airline logo, which symbolizes a dancers head-gear or an orchid. Well, it looked less like an orchid to me and more like a tilted head-gear with a head stuck inside (ala a smiley)

So, in effect, LBARULES is correct. Me and my erstwhile Thai guide came up with that one 🙂

The Thai logo is actually a stylized Thai dancer’s head

Where are you getting that one from?

This is what the airline say about their logo:

THAI’s distinctive livery incorporates the colours associated with Thailand: the shining gold found in its temples, the magenta of its shimmering silks and the rich purples of its orchids. Our logo has been likened to an orchid but is simply a symbol meant to convey the essence of Thailand; its soft, curving lines combined with a speed line suggest effortless flight.
