Hello,
I returned from France last Sunday on an Easy Jet flight. That was my first go at a low cost airline and I have to say that I haven’t been too impressed.
“Don’t be late, we won’t wait”
is the slogan on each ticket. Now we boarded the plane a CDG, waited and waited in the plane and after 25 minutes of nothing happening, the steward closed the door so we could go.
Oh no, wait a minute, we’re announced that the last two passengers have finally arrived in the terminal and that we will have to wait for them. Obviously it’s way after time so they have to have a special taxi to drive them to the aircraft. Finally the steward opens the door again to let board these passengers. Good for them.
All in all we managed to land with only 20 min delay, which I guess is not so bad. Arrived at Lutton however, the luggage conveyor belt starts. Some cases appear. Then some others. And then nothing. I start worrying when I realise that there is a whole bunch of us waiting for the luggages.
15 min pass without anybody being able to explain where or what.
In the end it turned out that they had forgotten to load a WHOLE BOX OF LUGGAGES on the plane! How bl**dy hard is it to load a plane? 17 people in total without luggages, some of them with half of their stuff. Mine is due to be delivered today.
I imagine the guys at CDG:
“Hey Pierre, look, what about zis big trolley of luggages?
“What about it?
“Dunno, I thought there was some space left in that plane. ‘ could have been loaded in.
“The plane’s gone now
“Ah. Well we can put it on zis ozer one over zere, it’s got pretty colours, dont’ you zink?
“Yeah, or we could even split the trolley in two to give these bags a free tour around the world in different planes.
“Cool.
…
“Jean?
“Oui?
“Do you think we f*cked up?
“Euuu I zink so…”
Has it ever happened to you that they forgot a whole load of stuff??
Cheerz

I remember one trip where they forgot to take off our luggage. Imagine a 737 worth of passengers waiting at the luggage carousel for their bags to appear only to watch as 3 bags appear and the carousel promptly shutdown. That was it, 3 whole bags made it off the airplane. The whole mass of us walked over to the lost luggage office where we were told that the ground crew forgot to pull all the bags off and the 737 had already departed for its next destination. We were not a very happy group.

Thanks for the spelling tips, I take them gratefully 😉
As for the delay, I agree 25 minutes is not a lot in itself but that’s 25 min waiting for passengers only. After this you still have the time between the pushback and the actual take off…
If I was one of these last passengers I would have been probably happy but still, turning up nearly at the printed take off time is pushing it!
Anyway, I have just received my suit-case so it doesn’t matter so much now.
Sorry for the ranting but it’s the first time I have ever come across a trolley full of bags forgotten at the airport.
Merci EasyJet

“Don’t be late, we won’t wait”
I think they should have pushed back and left without the stragglers. With easyJet, like many other low cost carriers, having very short turnaround times, you’ll probably find that the aircraft should have been airborne again within 30 minutes of touching down back at Luton, so hanging around in Paris did not help the situation.
As for luggage, I spoke of my only incident quite recently. A British Airways domestic service where my bag went to Manchester instead of Edinbugh – but I shan’t go into that again. 🙂

Well 25 mn late at CDG it’s not too bad.
I have timed many times the time it takes between the moment the plane leaves the airbridge and the moment we are airborn. The record was and still is 50mn.
You hear that 50mn for a 45 mn flight to AMS!!!!
As for the luggage …..

25 mins sitting on a plane at the stand? Thats nothing, it happens everywhere, everyday. With many airlines. I wouldn’t get worried about that. Try arriving at the airport and finding the airline has changed the departure to another airport, something Ryanair seem to enjoy doing.
The luggage is bad, someone in CDG obviously ain’t doing their job properly.
Oh, sorry to be pedantic but the plural for Luggage is Luggage 😉 no “s” 😉
Just like more than one Aircraft is still Aircraft 😎
