The last few weeks have seen announcements of major growth in 2005 from Luton:
2 more Monarch Scheduled destinations
9 new routes from Ryanair, using 4 based 737-800s
3 more based EasyJet aircraft operating to Krakow, Warsaw, Turin and Bratislava – plus at least one other destination
Wizz Air increasing to 8 arrivals a day
Thomas Cook to base 2 757s
If all this happens as predicted, Luton will handle over 10 million passengers next year, and will offer 50 scheduled destinations.
To facilitate the growth, 2 new piers are to be constructed, the second floor of the new terminal opened, and additional stands built.
In addition, to facilitate the massive growth in business jets, Harrods are constructing a new hangar and apron. During June it was common to see over 50 biz jets on the ground at any one time, and some days over 100 were present during a 24 hour period.
Boring it ain’t…

Harrods are an FBO (Fixed Base Operator).
They handle exec aircraft, run a VIP terminal, maintain aircraft, etc. It would appear from activity levels that they are doing OK.
And Airline Owner – thanks for the welcome. Any chance of a lift??

would also like to see a paralell taxiway as well in the near future. All this talk of piers, when they need extra runway capasity first.
