Taken on Saturday just after the super Concorde tour, but I’ll start a seperate thread for that. Please excuse the bad camera. 😉
G-BYDA and G-MIDX, notice the extremely hot, sunny, beautiful weather! 😉 😀 I take my hat off to MAN, the aviation viewing park really is excellent, and it was good to see it so busy with people of all ages, some who probably weren’t too interested in aviation but still come and just chill out in the sun watching the world go by. 🙂

Great shots everyone on this thread 🙂
Skymonster – The BMi 330 and PIA 777 shots are especially stunning 🙂

Nice shots RIPConcorde and everyone else who has posted on here. Have to get myself to MAN at some point!
Thanks Dan, much appreciated, for a second I thought my pics had been totally forgotten about!
ONe guy working at the Concorde tour commented on how bad the weather was at 9am in the morning come to think of it! 🙂
The only possibility is that one or two PIAs passed while I was in Concorde.

Proof that PIA did indeed visit MAN on Saturday, plus other proof that the sun came out in the afternoon!!!

That is a great spot isn’t it, only just found how to get there! 😉
Flex, I still don’t know how to get there – I get lost every time. However, after several wrong turns I usually end up in the right place!
Next attempt possibly August 14th – hopefully with some better morning weather!!!

Great shots, Kaplan Dig.
Did someone mention Ringway on Saturday??? 😀
1) B737 EI-BFC in the green Aer Lingus Dot Com scheme
2) Fokker 100 EI-DFC of EU Jet (Note sunshine)
3) Airbus A321 TC-KTY of KTHY
4) TC-KTY again.

Machester on Saturday??? 😮
You’ve gotta be kidding…! The weather was miserable in the morning!!! 😡
Don’t believe me???
Great pics, mind you sometimes ‘bad’ weather can make for some interesting shots! 😀

I like how you were able to capture the brief mosture appearance in the left engine on the Singapore Airlines 777. Great pictures Skymonster.

I’ve seen 5 at MAN at once!! 3 747s and a couple of 777s, one 747 was delayed!!
By: Skymonster - 3rd August 2004 at 20:13
Not seeing a single PIA must be a record!!
Again, not quite sure where you were looking, but I saw four PIA’s at MAN on Saturday (and have photos of them too) – two 777s, -BGJ and -BGL, and two 747-300s, -BGG and another in the old colours.

Yeah, I read that as well. Imagine getting a Star Alliance A320 instead of a Bmibaby 737. I know which one I would prefer!
By: RIPConcorde - 3rd August 2004 at 01:56
Just found out by looking at Jethros’ site that G-MIDX is actually on lease to bmibaby just now and isn’t operating for bmi as I presumed it was when I saw it.

Not seeing a single PIA must be a record!! They are like another based MAN airline the amount of flights into MAN!
By: RIPConcorde - 2nd August 2004 at 19:24
Oh yes, I didn’t see one PIA aircraft in the hours I was there either! 🙂
Most notable things of interest was the EK A332 and the Cathy Cargo B742. MYT DC10 was nice to see too.

It’s certificate of airworthiness (COA) expires next March, but as has been reported recently My Travel will now retire it along with the Boeing fleet at the end of the summer season this year.
Happy to say I’ve been on a My (Airtours) DC-10, even if it was a bit shabby.
Oh right, well in that case, that could have been the last time I’ll see a MYT DC10 in person 🙂 Maybe the viewing park will snap it up and put it on show, not just the nose like the MON example, but the whole airframe?
