Excellent Ren
I think it’ll be the 23 or 24 in future because i got the 300 service from Clydebank that goes right into the airport but it takes about an hour and you don’t even get any decent photography heres a couple of the photos i took yesterday.
The last one of the BA plane was actually taken from a footpath behind Yoker football ground
at the moment i’m using my video camera which has photoshot mode on it because my 35mm kit is far too heavy so i’m selling it on ebay and what i make from that i’m putting towards a Digital camera

Dunno much about buses but you can probably find out from here www.arriva.co.uk/scotlandwest.
I know the 23 and 24 service from Glasgow centre (Renfield Street) will drop you at Renfrew Cross or near the Normandy Hotel (23 service) at the swing bridge. Which is a 60 second walk from spot number two in the pictures and a few minutes from spot number one.
You can also intercept these services in Govan or Linthouse at the opposite side of the Clyde Tunnel from your place in Anniesland.
The 23 may actually pass the lay-by as it goes to Erskine via Inchinnan?
Note that because the Inchinnan swing bridge is closed to traffic for repairs til mid August that these services are being diverted via Paisley and Abbotsinch Road.

Nice photos mate, i’ll need to try and get down to that end of the road but theres no way i’d venture onto someones land if i seen that it was growing crops or something.
I think the last time i went near the field i’m talking about it had a small church to the left of it up the little lane and landing lights and you could sit by the white cart/black cart whatever it’s called lol
Cheers
BTW
Does anyone know what buses go down abbotsinch road as the bus i got from Clydebank came the other way yesterday do any buses from the Renfrew Ferry come that way?

You really need wheels to get to Barnsford Road unless you like a good hike. As for the field you mention, it belongs to a farm and is currently full of corn, so you’d probably get a good rollicking if the farmer caught you wandering around it.
I normally stand at the little lay-by car park beside the field towards Inchinnan or sit on a parapet of the old stone bridge crossing the river at the main road junction. Views of 23 inbound traffic look like this from that spot and the 2nd picture shows the view from the lay-by.

Well I went to GLA yesterday got a few photos from the inside of the terminal building but was quite impressed with the views some of you guys get from Barnsford Road (A726) where the Flying School road is unfortunately a bit too far to walk and i don’t know if the bus drivers have a tendency to let you off at this part of the airport if you ask them nicely enough.
Also at the other end of the field if i get a bus along to the far end of Abbotsinch Road when RWY23 is in use where theres a field directly facing 23 on Greenock Road (A8) but i’m not sure if this field is airport property or farmers either way i guess you’d be trespassing.
All in All a good morning out because i got what i came for a couple of shots of the Air Atlanta 747 taking off unfortunately i couldn’t find where it was parked up to get some better photos of her before she left for Manchester.

Go to www.egpk.vze.com and select “cargo scheds” from the menu page.

Try these sites too for GLA info and logs. A bit code heavy but you’ll soon get used to it.

Just for my own information by looking at the flight number and where it took off from how does one tell that it’s a 747?
Thanks
