Be afraid, be very afraid!! 😮
Here are a few from my archive – they’re scanned photographs rather than digital originals, so the quality is variable.
I’ll post a few more if folk enjoy these. 🙂
1) An unknown Atlas 747F at Ringway
2) “Death Row” at Bournemouth
3) BAe ATP EC-HFM of Air Europa at Southend
4) Airbus A330 EI-SHN of Aer Lingus in Siberian Winter scheme at Birmingham
5) B737 G-ZAPM of Titan (Matt – this one’s specially for you!)
6) B737 EI-CNY of Ryanair. Anyone remember Sabre Airways, and who they became? 🙂

This is EI-CNT and it displayed these titles until last year when it transferred over to the Vodafone logo jet. Was sponsored by the Sun/News of the World newpaper company. On one side had the ‘Supersunic’ titles you can see, and then had ‘News of the World’ titles on the other side.
Thanks for clearing that up! 😉
More great pictures, well done!

Ages ago. They were the B1 models: G-CEAA and G-CEAB.

When did EAL have A300s?

Some very nice shots from a non digi cam Grey area! What i like about them most is the fact that there is quite a few rare aircraft in them, which always makes for interesting viewing in my opinion.
Nice work mate. 🙂

Here’s both sides of CNT in it’s Sun logojet, and then how it appears in the Vodafone cs.

What happened to the livery on the ryanair B737 shown on the last photo

Azzurra were a subsidiary of Air Malta and, sadly, are no more.
The B737s were replaced by two A320s, EI-DBC (c/n 1787) and EI-DBD (c/n 1975) – now OO-TCJ and OO-TCI respectively with Thomas Cook.

Glad you liked the Titan 737, Matt. 🙂
A few more? Again, variable quality……..
1) A very poor shot of a notorious B707. This is 9L-LDU of Koda Air Cargo at Southend. In its previous guise as 3C-GIG, this was the aircraft that tried to “bomb” Southend airport with drugs!
2) Airbus A310 “F-RADA” of the Armee de l’Air at Birmingham.
3) Boeing 757-300 D-ABOH at Ringway
4) Tupolev Tu154M LZ-LCA of Bulgarian Air Charter at Ringway.
5) Boeing 737 D-AGEY of Germania (on lease to Azzura) at Ringway.
6) Airbus A320 F-GRSE of Star Europe, landing at Birmingham.

Nice shots, especially considering they are non-digital. Good to see the ‘Supersunic’ Ryanair logojet, had almost forgot about that one from my early spotting days at STN!

good photos from what i assume to be a great database. Like the A330 better though if it had Aer Lingus on the side of it

Great stuff! Love the titan one!!! What happened to the livery on the ryanair B737 shown on the last photo

Great shots. Especially the shot of “death row” is interesting. I never knew that EAL had A300s! When did they get them, retire them and where did they fly them too? Also, why did they retire them considering they went from small capacity 732 to huge capacity 742. Would it not have been wiser to stay with the A300?

Thanks, LBARULES. The things that really matter – the wife, the girls, the cat – all escaped unhurt, thank God.
By: green320 - 29th July 2004 at 21:24
Great stuff as per usual!!

Great stuff Grey, real shame all your older stuff got burnt 🙁

Thanks, BigJet. They were all taken within the past 6 years.
Sadly, my “real” archive that dated back to the early 1970s was destroyed in a fire about 6 years ago. 🙁
