Jetliner production increasing in 2005
Boeing intends to deliver between 315 and 320 commercial airplanes in 2005—another sign that the aerospace market is gradually recovering, the company said today. At the start of this year, Boeing’s plans called for delivering approximately 285 jetliners in 2005. Three months ago, the company revised its delivery outlook to approximately 300 commercial airplanes next year. Today, as part of its second-quarter earnings announcement, the company said, “Commercial Airplanes is experiencing an increased demand for 737s.” As a result, deliveries are now expected to be in the range of 315 to 320 airplanes next year, with additional production increases possible in 2006.
