WW to BHX?

Just reported on a.net that ww is going to base 3 aircraft at BHX from Jan 05 to 20 destinations. A move from EMA possible? Why on earth would they want to do that? Too much compitition?

Another point – Could this also spell the end of MyTravel Lite?

Ops at LGW and MAN have already ceased so I doubt expansion at BHX is a priority for them. Excellent news about WW – I know they’ve cancelled a few routes recently but it’s clear some routes at EMA, MAN, CWL and MME are doing well. Expansion at LBA and BHX would surely make them one of the leading loco’s in the Midlands/Northern England and Wales?

Well Ryanair didn’t operate a huge number of flights from BHX (GRO,MJV and DUB), the fact is they did operate these flights but moved out because of high costs. Which makes Baby moving in at BHX very interesting.

Another point – Could this also spell the end of MyTravel Lite?

Local news reports are it seems most likely that bmibaby will be taking up the 17 routes lost when Duo collapsed,( plus possibly routes to Ibiza, Amsterdam etc.?)

What about the routes the EDI lost when Duo want bust!?! 😡 🙁 😉

I don’t recall Ryanair ever operating a lot of flights from BHX.

Also, to be frank, “too dear” increasingly seems to translate as “not free” when the phrase is associated with airports that Ryanair serves.

I fear this is the end of bmibaby at Cardiff. This winter they’ve dropped Jersey and Toulouse, on top of Milan earlier this year and the drafting out of Cork and Prestwick to Air Wales. I thought they might announce Nice, Murcia and possibly Barcelona in a few weeks but now their starting at BHX I very much doubt it. They also said that 3 aircraft would be based at BHX, probably the 3 presently at Cardiff.

Seems like it is going to happen, despite them saying the EMA and BHX routes will operate side by side, surely this is the beginning of the end for Baby at EMA is it not?

Also it says on bmibaby.com, ‘Birminghams expecting a Baby. Flights on sale next week’.

They would have a fair bit of trouble doing 20 destinations with 3 aircraft!

Jet2 have 7 based a/c at LBA, and I think they only operate about 13 destinations?

I wouldnt be surprised if they did set up shop at BHX, maybe they would move out of EMA, and shift alot of those routes over to mainline BMi? But I dont think 20 destinations will be happening.
