VLM transports 30% more passengers than previous year.

VLM transported more passengers in the beginning of 2004.

In the first half of 2004, VLM Flemish Airlines transported 30% more passengers than previous year. The total turnover was 24% more.

Between january and june of this year, 260.000 people more flew with VLM. If this trend continues, then VLM thinks to transport 550.000 passengers this year.

VLM says the increase in passengers is a result of the new routes and the expansion of the fleet. The route Liverpool-London City proves to be a great success.

VLM vervoerde meer passagiers begin ’04

In de eerste helft van 2004 heeft de
Vlaamse luchtvaartmaatschappij VLM
Airlines 30 procent meer passagiers
vervoerd dan in dezelfde periode vorig
jaar. De totale omzet van VLM steeg met
24 procent.

Tussen januari en juni van dit jaar
vlogen meer dan 260.000 mensen binnen
West-Europa met VLM. Als die trend zich
doorzet, denkt VLM dit jaar ruim
550.000 passagiers te kunnen vervoeren.

VLM schrijft de stijging vooral toe aan
de uitbreiding van de vloot. Ook zou de
start van de route Liverpool – London
City een succes zijn. Bovendien heeft
VLM ervoor gekozen om geen brandstof-
toeslag in te voeren eind mei.
