rumour on EAL and 747(s)

post from the DAP mailing list:

Dear all,

Had a chat today with one of the KLM engineers doing test runs on the
European 747 which came in last week for maintenance…
According to him the airline found money again to operate the 747’s…
furthermore they found funds to pay for 4 Rolls Royce engines on the parked
G-BDXO ….XO will go into the hangar soon to be flying soon…..
Anyone who can confirm this….????

On Saturday there were 3 European 747’s @ BOH. One left Saturday evening to AMS & is due back Tuesday evening. Today G-BDXF (which had been @ Filton) has been engine running @ BOH & i understand that they have a contract fron the end of this month for 2 aircraft for 8 week’s, but i am not sure who for.

Bumping this thread back up with this little bit of news I picked up once more from the DSML list:

Hiya,

Noted this afternoon: G-BDXE European 747, active at AMS. The aircraft was
operating PY993 to Surinam (PBM = Parimaribo) . Guess the aircraft will
return tomorrow?

I think they mean the one that is currently parked at AMS, G-BDXO. It is in the new livery.
