These 747s were in the grave yard corner of Manston today. The AFX N218BA looked ready for the breakers. It doesn’t look as even the engines are salvageable see the no.3.
European G-BDXJ was standing nearby externally OK. Both are well away from the airfield proper having been towed across a public road to the old control tower site.

Air Atlanta often have the B747 fleet in MSE as they have a maintainance facility there.

Yep indeed Air Atlanta. The keep there jumbos stored there from time to time. MK airlines is another that keeps alot stored there – all the DC-8’s (bar the cargo lion one) belong to them.
TF-ARG was the 747 they had there when i last visit. Thry have always got at least one there… sometimes more. Most i have seen them have there at any one time is 3.

There is another 747 out on the airfield it was painted all white and its ident appeared to be TF-ARL. This was through binoculars and and a fence at an angle! Possable Air Atlanta?

Nice shots Mmitch. Lucky to get XJ up close like that. When i went last month she was in the airport grounds, parked the other side of the radar. Now thats shes been moved to this location, it does more or less signal the end of her. 🙁

Nice. I was in Chateauroux,a nd there stands a 747-100 of Corsair. It is vebry dirty, partly stripped and standing on building bricks!
