Bonjour nous allons à Congo! http://www.airliners.net/open.file/597376/L/
Such a fascinating airline! What are their other destinations? Where do their Tristar’s come from? Where do they fly to? Since when have they been around here? Do they have a website?

Their 727’s are ex-delta.
Sn Brussels airlines stopped it’s flight to Kinshasa because of the current unrests in DR Congo. How about them? The L1011 is very clean however! At least nobody died in their accidents.

Please disregard my comments on them not having crashed before. They have had two crashes already!

Some of their TriStars appear to be ex-Air Canada machines

Yes 2 accidents in 2002 when the plane was written off, an L1011 and a 707.
I am trying to find a list of countries where Hewa Bora is banned, but this is taken from the UK foreign office website:
Prospective air travellers should be aware of doubts about the airworthiness of some Congolese and other regionally registered aircraft. British government employees have been advised that there are safety concerns about all DRC domestic airlines and that Hewa Bora may carry fewer risks than other local DRC airlines. But this airline – like all Congolese airlines – does not fully meet ICAO and other international safety standards.

A plane that goes to Belgium is probably maintained superbly well.
Bit presumpteous. Belgian officials can not control every airline. Even then, I would not be surprised if this airline is left a bit alone for political reasons. The close ties between belgium and DR Congo as was mentioned already by Mark L.
Let’s put it this way, Ostend Airport could just as well add the emergency landings in their time table! 😉 That shows a bit on Belgian aviation safety check-ups. Not that the check-ups in many other European countries is much better I believe, but that’s another story.
As far as I am aware no Hewa Bora plane has crashed. They are a young airline though. Just a few years at most?

A plane that goes to Belgium is probably maintained superbly well. There’s a huge overcapacity in Brussels. Did they have any accidents yet then?

They are banned from most EU countries due to safety fears, and ICAO and the FAA have quite a lot to say on Hewa Bora and DR COngo in general!. They only fly into Belgium because of the old Colonial links between the 2 countries.
