They say they will be from China, Russia, India, Africa and Western Europe. If India has been chosen it can be both 9W and AI. What do you guys think?

I agree bigger is not always better in particular situations. However, in an airline alliance, how can bigger not be better? The more airlines in the alliance, the more destinations, options, airline lounges, etc. you can offer the customer. I am the poster boy for the Star Alliance, in a non-business traveler aspect. Star takes me where-ever I want to go, on one or more of their airlines. I get uprades on NZ, BD, LH, etc. just because of my status with UA. I get my premier exec bonus (100%) on all USAirways flights plus LH trans-Atlantic flights. I get to fly in SQ’s business class cabin for the 2nd time this summer, and I’ve never even purchased a revenue ticket from them. I can go on…
absolutely agreed on that.

It seems that Star is becoming bigger and certainly a great deal better than the likes of SkyTeam and oneworld.
In what way are they better? Bigger is not always better. Personally I think that the *A is getting too big to handle properly. Its like the EU, it worked reasonably well when it only had 6 members, but as countries join decission taking takes longer and waste of resources increases.

I’ve said it before and I say it again. I am convinced that Qatar Airways are only around the corner from joining the Star Alliance.

I am not surprised at Blu1, they are nothing but a regional for SAS (formerly SAS Air Botnia). The only surprising of them joining the alliance is that they do it under their own name, instead of under the SAS name.

Im a bit surprised at blue1.Im hoping to see them in Dublin in the future. It would be good to see them here and theyd have connections with AC and all European Star airlines and maybe in the future UA.
