Just read on pprune forums that the latest rumour up here in the bleak North East, is FlyBe are planning a daily Belfast City service to Teesside and Manchester! This will mean that the BACX Manchester – Belfast service will be no more (this is just what I’ve read here not of my knowledge). More good news for Teesside, who knows, they could even score for a daily Paris CDG too! 😮

When Gill Airways operated MME/BFS and MME/BHD (part of the silly NCL/MME/BFS/BHD single-flight-number-fiasco!), there was a steady, but small, demand for Belfast from Tees-side. I think that with the added custom that a lo-co would attract, Flybe could make a twice daily MME/BHD work.

There are also rumours of bmibaby dropping the BFS route and replacing it with Cork. They are also in talks with Teesside and Paris CDG with a daily flight there, and Prague will be moved to 3 times a week. Source – bmibaby customer relations.

Me to Steve, If they support it with a couple of daily flights, one in the morning one in the evening, I can see it been a much bigger success than Bmi Babys 1x daily BFS.

If bmibaby drop BFS-MME i can see the FlyBe route being a successfull alternative.

I’ve heard from a v reliable soure that the MAN-BHD BACX route is to be pulled, and flybe to operate it. Also BE have rights to MAN-GCI and MAN-JER. I hope this will happen as i like BE.
