Ok, lets see them.
This time concentrating on photos of your mounts. Flightdeck shots, walkaround shots. And if you have time, a little explination what the object/switches/devices/yadda you show actually do.
If your stuck, inflight shots will do aswell 🙂

It took me a while but I finally have a few pictures to share. The ground photos were taken in West Palm Beach, Florida on a gorgeous day last week. 31C with a light wind and low humidity. Very nice. 😀
1. A close up of our Rolls Royce AE3007E engine. It’s not a true Rolls though.
2. Looking up at the tail.
3. For me this picture of this particular BE-1900D is very interesting. All of our 1900D’s were sold to Gulfstream International Airlines back in 2000. We started delivering them to Gulfstream in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the late part of 2000 with our last 1900D flying down in October 2001. I happened to deliver this specific BE-1900D to Gulfstream on October 10th, 2000 from Cleveland to Fort Lauderdale. It was a 3 hour and 45 minute non-stop flight without a bathroom. ugh. I was the last Continental Express pilot to land her before we handed it over to Gulfstream. Obviously it’s had its livery changed since I flew her.
4. I had to resort to using the digital zoom on my camera to get this picture. This is a picture of the Vehicle Assembly Building and launch pad at NASA’s Cape Canaveral facility. We did everything we could to get vectored closer both on the way south and on this flight back north but we didn’t really get what we’d hoped for.

Skycruiser and Moondance thanks for sharing these they were super.
Skycruiser I was going to ask you did you get the Freight flt off standby!!!
Have you ever been to Anchorage before?
Yes, I was called out of reserve. And no I haven’t been to Anchorage before. It was quite nice though. Shame it was raining. 😎

I’ve said it many times before, but Jet2 really are superb. So punctual with such superb staff who can’t do enough for you. My Mum and Dad are flying to Prague with them on the 2nd of August, so i’ll see what they make of them.
And on the ex Ansett 733 note, you really wouldn’t know it from the inside as every Jet2 flight ive been on has had an incredibly clean cabin, and very comfortable leather seats.

Yes, Jet2 seem to have made a very good name for themselves.
Low cost, but High Cusomer satisfaction.
I want to fly them, just for the hell of it. O’leary could learn from them

G-CELU, the aircraft that operated my 1st Jet2 flight.

It’s rare to have opportunities to watch a freighter from the inside.
I worked for UPS for a month unloading the freighters at ONT. 😀

Thanks Sky and Moondance.
Terrific picture. It’s rare to have opportunities to watch a freighter from the inside.

which do you find better cargo or passenger??? And which is safer cargo as no passengers can charge to the cockpit or is passenger as there is a few incidents involving passengers??
By: skycruiser - 27th May 2004 at 03:54
Fantastic photos, Skycruiser. I was not aware that you guys had to operate the Cargo flights, as well. I thought airlines such as CX, SQ, NW, JL, etc. that have pax and cargo divisions, employed 2 different sets of pilots for pax flights and cargo flights. Interesting to see some of the items on the palates.
That’s very true, we do. But if you like you can volunteer to operate the freighter aswell. I wanted to see another operation in action so I listed for it. I was called out from reserve to do the freight flight, so it’s very rare we will do them.
By: skycruiser - 27th May 2004 at 03:48
well, a downside is most cargo flights are at night. So Cargo jockey’s become night owls.
All of my pax long haul flying becomes a night flight but the trip to and from Alaska was daylight both ways which was a nice change.

Excellent!
Apparently cargo is where the money is to be made these days? I can see the advantages, no talks to the passengers, no air rage, no medical emergencies( well much reduced chance), no passengers to keep happy. I reckon you could have a whole lot of fun- within limits- flying a cargo aircraft knowing that you aren’t going to upset any passengers 🙂
I must say it was loads of fun flying the cargo, very relaxed indeed. It was like being on your own private aircraft. 😀
