The Ukrainian authorities will from June 1 impose restrictions
on AEROFLOT’s flights over the Ukranian territory to and from
Greece.
An official statement released by Ukraviatrans on Thursday May
20 said the Ukrainian side “is enforced to impose the
restrictions”. This is connected with Russia’s position not to
allow flights over its area between Ukraine and Kazakhstan
within the framework of Ukrainian Airlines’s transcontinental
Kiev-Beijing en-route flight, the statement said.
The document further noted that these actions by the Russian
side are not only contrary to the bilateral intergovernmental
agreement , but to the spirit of the agreement on Common free
market zone of Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan retified by the
parliaments of Ukraine and Russia on April 20. Meantime, the
Olympic Games will be held in the capital of Greece from August
13 to August 29
