STN this evening (as requested!)

As the weather was nice, jumped on my bike this evening and took a cycle upto Stansted! 30 minutes later I arrived, greeted by an Asiana 767. Other things of interest were a private 777, private (UAE?) AN-124, Piaggio Avanti (D-IZZY 😀 ), Asiana 747, CSA 737, Sky Europe 737 and several others that I have pictures of! All in all a very good evening.

First let’s get the boring ones out of the way!

.
You should consider sending the Iceland Express aircraft to one of the aircraft magazines, I am sure the ones I read haven’t mentioned that carrier before.

There was a feature on Iceland Express in Airliner World last year as I recall ?

who and where would I send it to?!

Just depends on what magazine you read, Airliner World, Aircraft Illustrated – just send it to the editors, with all your details, and a caption with info about the picture. Magazines don’t use pics off the net, they use what’s sent to them, because they could get in trouble with copyright. Give it a go.

robbelc: The best time to catch STN is the evning in the Summer when it stays light til late. Between 7 and 9pm it gets a lot more interesting, with various Shorts 360’s, JAl Cargo 747, NCA Cargo 747, UPS 767, ChannexA300, Air Contractors A300 and ATR, charters including BY 757, FCA A321 and MON 757 etc. Try it, if you can!

Tony: Thanks! Hmm I’m not sure, who and where would I send it to?! I think they are fairly well established now, if the magazines wanted them they’d probably pick them out on sites such as jetphotos.net where I have them displayed.

Wow, superb shots there. Looks like Stansted is a veritable city of 737s, I particularly like the Iceland Express and the Norwegian aircraft with the black and white piccy on the tail.

What’s the percentage of 737’s operated from STN? 50% , more ?

I went there on Sunday afternoon for about 4 hours and loged 46 737’s(plus the ex GO ones which I didnt need,so prob another 5).Only non 737’s on the terminal side were Global Supply 747,BAC F27,Cyprus A320, First Choice A321, Mytravel A320,and Fedex MD11. So 737’s are about 80% it can get a bit monotonus!

While we are on the subject, Flyglobespan seem to be having a very bad day today, and seems to be only at Nice. The EDI flight has a 7 hour delay! 😮

15.25 EXS6105 NICE EXPECTED 2225

No word on the GLA flight that was due inabout 5 hours ago, don’t know why it was going via Genoa either?!

13.30 EXS6145 GENOA VIA

NICE
same for the STN flight, no word and it was due in a couple of hours ago.

16.30 EXS6165 NICE

I’ve never seen delays like it from them ever since they started! It seems to be restricted to the NCE flights though?

Just noticed another flight due into STN from NCE with a big delay, so it must be a problem at NCE, don’t know what?

I guess so. 🙂
I wonder if it will always be an EDI based aircraft and an EXS code.
If the GSM code ever appears on that flight that means it will be G-GSPN or G-OTDA and they will be wearing their new livery! 🙂

I was thinking that. In that case then, must be a charter? Possibly some sort of city break tour company chartering them this summer.

Thanks for that Dan, that’s interesting as Flyglobespan don’t seem to be offering the flight for sale on their website.
