Seems that they missed a lease payment on one of their a/c, and as a result it was impounded. All sorted out now I believe

One of their aircraft has been impounded at Shannon:

http://www.rte.ie/business/2004/0521/skynet.html

“Skynet, an Irish registered airline which operates out of Shannon Airport, has had one of its planes impounded at Shannon airport.

The plane is subject to a High Court Order from a third party, thought to be the owner of the plane, not Aer Rianta.

Aer Rianta is satisfied that there will be no immediate effect to pasengers, as Skynet has made other arrangements with Aer Lingus, one of Skynet’s codeshare partners.

The two year old airline provides a service between Shannon, Amsterdam and Moscow and had planned over the coming months to extend its routes to cover other European destinations.

It’s understood a difficulty has arisen between Skynet and the company it leases from over a payment due which has been delayed because of time zone differences in the US.

Sources close to the company have denied there are any difficulties with the solvency of the company and is now in the process of chartering another aircraft so that services out of Shannon can be resumed.”

Ive noticed that quite a few of their flights have been cancelled mostly Dublin-Moscow it would be a real pity if they have.
