Here we go. EDI is doing excellent!! Now processed more passengers monthly than GLA for 6 months in a row and is growing more than twice as fast as GLA yearly! 😀 EDI’s next target, BHX only handled 12000 more passengers for the month! 😉 Here’s the link to all the info:

Just about all the major UK charter airlines are now operating a route or two out of EDI this year, even Excel! 🙂
However, Monarch is the only one with an aircraft based at EDI and is the dominating charter airlines at EDI this summer.
BAA does not have the facilities or hangar space at EDI for
major aircraft basing..hence the reason why BAA sent tour operators and their airlines elsewhere from day one…
Another reason why EDI does not have regular long-haul charter, is the fact that aircraft are based elsewhere. Not EDI’s fault, nor the pax, they have no choice.. 😡

It’s interesting that only Monarch and My Travel fly out of EDI, but those two plus Thomas Cook, and Air 2000 as well as Britannia fly out of GLA?
The latter three currently flying out of EDI are ‘Scotch Mist’? 😀 😀 😀
Enough of this nonsense…back to aviation? 😎

Let’s not start an airport ware here between GLA and EDI….hahaha
Yes indeed, it’s embarrassing and parochial enough on the GLA and EDI sites without starting it on here, comparison is fine but moderation will be applied to the first signs of flaming as witnessed elsewhere I would suggest. 😀

Plus every other charter man and their dog at GLA
although I do think BY operate a limited network from EDI.
GLA even pinches EDI ‘s Monarch A321 on occasions !!
Well, April is out if ‘winter’ and EDI was still ahead
April doesnt count as summer season
😎
“”The taxman is only interested in what you’ve earned over a year not a few months “” 🙂

true 🙁 Looks like all their routes from EDI got to atleast 50%+ loads in April. After a difficult start they were month by month improving, if only they got that funding they were very much expecting 🙁

duo were still in the figures for April, too… we’ll have to see what kind of a dent their bankruptcy makes to Turnhouse’s pax figures…

Anyway, only time will tell, it’ll be interesting and I can’t wait to see how the summer goes for EDI and GLA. 🙂

The 6 months over the winter….mmmm, wonder what the 6 months over GLAs summer will show ?

I can hear ‘riders’ in the distance!

And Derry up 200%!!!!!!! 😮 😮 😮 What!

Just noticed Blackpool, up 95% from last year! 😮
Obviously due to the Ryanair start up, but still! The airport’s executives must be having a whale of a time.

Wow! I just mentioned in another thread about us catching up with Manchester and overtaking to become the UK’s 3rd busiest. Looks quite likely, with Stansted exapnding at 24.3% since the same period last year! Huge exapnsion, quite unbelievable actually. Only about 3,000 passengers difference this month between the airports, and with STN expanding at twice the rate of MAN it might not take long.
