Summer storms have returned. Yesterday was chock full of thunderstorms so it made for an interesting day. As luck would have it our route of flight split this pair of large cells quite nicely. 🙂

In the photo of ground zero, I can’t seem to figure what is where. We stayed only a minute’s walk from the site. Anyone know which building is the World Financial Center?
I don’t know if this helps but here’s where the footprints of the 2 towers were with north being to the left.

Nice pics!!!
I would love to visit New York and even live there or somewhwere in the USA for a while. It seems unlikely what with security but I feel it is neccesary for them to do it. Certain types of prats ruin it for every other innocent person!
Keep the photos coming, I love to see them!

How do you get the flight deck photos.

Looking at Manhattan from above you can see where Fritz Lang got the idea for the film ‘Metropolis’. I believe the Nazi’s wanted to use the area as a blueprint for future arian super cities in Europe.

I take it the anvil shaped clouds are the storms ?
Yes. The winds aloft where very weak (less than 10 knots) which made the tops of the storms more blurred than the traditional anvil shape.
