Engineers query Jetstar’s safety
Qantas’ budget airline Jetstar is reportedly the subject of a high profile safety scare campaign by airline engineers.
The Australian Licensed Aircraft Engineers Association will erect billboard advertising at Sydney and Melbourne airports and on the internet over concerns that pre-flight safety inspections will be done by pilots in transit rather than licensed engineers, The Australian Financial Review reported.
The association said cut-price tickets were being offered at the expense of safety.
Qantas said the process had been used by its subsidiary Impulse for four years.

Given that they’re just cut’n’pastes of the same press release, why not delete both?
And what’s all this with the airlines adverts plastered all over people’s signatures all of a sudden? I’m sick of seeing the Jet2 and Monarch liveries already!
Joking apart, it must be playing merry hell with screen access and refresh times for people who are on dial-up Internet access.
