Attention Virgin Atlantic fans !

I finally received my long sought after Virgin Atlantic models today. Both in 1:400 scale and made by Gemini Jets., these models are presented in the same metal box as the inflight sales versions and are identical in every way other than the reg’s .

Here is the A340-600 (G-VFOX) “Silver Lady”

Allen and Michael, great models! The detail on that Thai 747 looks very good.

I recieved a few this morning:

pic 2: Orbis Flying eye hospital DC-10 (N220AU)
pic 3: Malaysia 747 (9M-MHL)

Excellent models.

I received a model yesterday – A Thai Airways 747-400 in the Royal Barge colour scheme. It is ‘Tucano Line’ and the quality and detail of the model is brilliant, especially when you consider it is 1/500.

I have also got the Thai Md-11 on its way to me from Bangkok. This is a 1/400. I’m aiming to collect the entire Thai Airways fleet on a 1/400 scale and so far have the 777-300, 747-300, 747-400, classic 737-200 (limited edition of 750) and the Md-11. I don’t think anyone makes the ATRs or the 737-400s in service with the airline.

Here’s some photos. First one is HS-TGJ on its own and the second is HS-TGJ alongside Orient Thai 747-200 HS-UTP. Both are 1/500s.

I gave that up years ago, too lazy now. 😮 In my day though I used to build at least one Airfix or suchlike kit per week. The only assembled kits I have now are a 1:48th scale DC-3 in Lufthansa colours and a badly done 1:144 scale BAC-1-11 in Aer Lingus 1960’s livery.

I havent made that many only a BA concorde, 747 BA & Lufthansa, 777 singapore, F-22, F/A-18 and a harrier.

Fantastic models Allen! Did you go to GLA and get any pictures?

Nope couldn’t be bothered in the end, had a day off in the back garden with the cats and some cold tinnies.

The sun was just coming up when I took them, so they look a little dark anyway. I’ll post better lit shots later.;)
