According to the a.netters, BA are bringing the 744 back to LGW, I suppose the 777s must be getting boring! They are coming back on the most popular routes – MCO is definetly one of them
BA is also adding a few more routes over the next few months from LGW!

what new routes?

..they would also struggle with engineering support for 744 at LGW, so would only be viable if there was a destination duplicated at LHR so that they could W-pattern the a/c back to LHR for maint..

Well arnt you a party pooper.LOL only messin Id have thought tha BA would want to concentrate the 744s on LHR and only operate 777s out of LGW but well see.

Lets just say that BA operations have no idea what the people on a.net are talking about!
MCO doesn’t operate even with a First cabin, and so would be impractical for the 744, and none of the other routes demand the load factor for it, especially with BGI being operated from LHR now too. BA now have an LHR based IAH service, so Lagos is no longer a problem.
I can’t imagine this ever happening to be honest, and any new Long Haul services won’t be able to be set up until new planes are bought, something which won’t happen for a while due to money problems.

I had heard this some time ago from my friend who is CC for BA.I expect one of the routes will be Lagos as a lot of xfer passengers were seriously p****d off by the Lagos going to LHR a couple of years ago–they’d come in from Houston on BA into LGW and then have to get to LHR to go onward.
Any idea when this is going to be?I cant wait for the 747 to go back overhead again from LGW!!!
