Maybe this should be in the historic section? – anyway –
In the Peter Weir movie “The Truman Story” Jim Carrey enters a weird travel agency (they don’t really want him to travel!). There is a poster in the background for a second or two of a B707 hit by lightning. That photo looks authentic. Does anybody know the picture and photographer? Or is it all make believe? (like the rest!)
Best regards

From a little search I see about a year ago there was talk of an ANA 747 taking off from Osaka for China and hit just after take off. Have been unable to download the picture though. Could it be this?

I think it’s a 707, the 747 has a bigger wing surface and bigger engines.

Thanks! Looking closer it could indeed be a 747.

R u sure that is a B707 and not a B747.. i think its more a B747.
I am not quite sure whether that is a true picture or not although I have seen pictures with aeroplanes hit by lighting. if you check at www.airliners.net maybe you find one.
If you want to search whether that was true, I suggest to use www.airdisaster.com. As far as i remember, it wasnt in there, but maybe I am wrong!
Kind Regards
