Okay, I have debated long and hard about making this post and just as hard on where to post it. I believe this is the right place.
The Commercial Aviation Forum has had some problems as of late. Initially, I didn’t believe it to be of any great concern, but sadly that has proved not to be the case. There are many people on this forum for whom I have the utmost respect. Some work in the industry, some are just enthusiasts like myself and a good number are from the younger age group. I have learned much from all of you.
The problem lies with the singular lack of maturity shown by certain members. I won’t name them for they, and we, realise just who they are. This lack of maturity is a serious concern for the majority of members and has led to a decline in postings by those we wish to hear from most.
So here is the invitation, let’s make this place the joyous and truly informative place that it always was. I want no flames over this directed towards anyone. We Should all be mature enough to make our own decisions and act on them and bring an end to the problems we are experiencing.
If anyone is offended by what I have written please report this post to the webmaster, I’m sure he would be interested to know of people’s genuine concerns about the state of the forum at present.
Regards,

I have also been part of some of the squabbling, but i took an idea from another forum user, and deleted all the post i could find that were offensive.
This was my way of starting over.

I too am all for this.
It is my intention that after the bank holiday weekend has passed I intend to try and engage the Webmaster in e-mail or PM conversation to try and achieve some resolution to the topic of moderation. My reasoning for this is not just to keep the quality of our aviation chat but also to benefit those people (especially the young ones who are potentially tomorrows pilots) who can learn and improve themselves socially in group discussion. I think a classic case in point is EAL_King who in his early days caused a huge uproar with unintelligible posts in text speak but because we had a good core of people here who persevered and also because EAL_King tried hard himself, he makes great posts and I enjoy the results of his contribution. I don’t want to get into discussion here about who should be a moderator (if webby accepts the principle) as that is up to him/her.

I totally agree. Why don’t we all wipe the slate clean and start over again. There is no reason at all why we can’t all get along is there ? At the end of the day we come on the forum to relax and talk about aviation not bicker like kids. As Kev says lets put this to bed and all make an effort to get along !!!!

I agree, but understand these things are also for a small part thanks to me (like losing members). Well I don’t know actually cuz most people don’t really let me know. But I find it difficult to express my opinions properly in English. I’ll put an extra effort into that, and if I’m irritating for anyone, let me know.

Yes I totally agree! I’ve been with this forum for a little over 6 months, and in just that time I’ve noticed the huge decline in the maturity, quality and just the general standards on this forum. There are some great people on here that have very professional and informative views, and I feel that with this decline we’re going to slowly lose them (looks like Saab 2000 has been the latest to disappear  ). We’ve also lost the likes of A330Crazy because of all this .Lets just pick up where we seem to have made our mistakes, and carry on how this forum should be.

Well said Kev, I couldn’t agree more! Let’s get this forum back on track with interesting discussions based on fact without the mindless squabbles.
