easyjet launch new Belfast routes

Excellent news as i said in the thread about the Ryanair expansions i say that these airlines should start pushing to gain rights to fly to more Eastern Europe/Russia and North Africa Destinations!

Fantastic news for Belfast really chuffed to see that. Preston I agree, Barcelona is a good shout for Jet2 from BFS, but where else? EZY seem to have all the routes I imagine Jet2 would want to operate from BFS (i.e ALC,AGP) Maybe Palma? Venice? Faro? It really shows that the demand for Prague flights is there, as EZY have already lined up a 2nd flight even though bmi Baby announced a flight very shortly before. Good news all round!

great news for NI. I am sure that Je2 need a bit of exrta work for the aircraft they will be operating from there this summer – perhaps a BCN looks favourite, with possable services to some of the other destinations they fly to from LBA ?

easyJet, Europe’s leading low cost airline, today announces the introduction of four new routes from Belfast International Airport direct to some of Europe’s most popular destinations; Alicante, Malaga, Nice and Paris.

These new routes are a direct result of the Air Route Development Scheme, the Northern Ireland Authorities initiative to improve the provision of air services in the province.

In addition, easyJet is also increasing the three daily services between Gatwick and Belfast to four and, due to high demand, a second daily service between Gatwick and Prague. Both these increased frequencies commence on 27 May.

This major expansion from easyJet’s Northern Ireland base will increase the number of routes offered by around 50%, with a total of 13 destinations now available.

easyJet is not only Northern Ireland’s largest airline, but the only scheduled airline in the province to offer of a choice of direct European services.

Well I must say this is excellent news for Belfast – some more European routes at last!!! And theres also the Jet2 service to Prague and I dont think it will be long before easyJet serves Prague from Belfast too! easyJet are also expanding loads at Gatwick aswell!
