Hello folks,
Popped over to Manchester today. In the space of three hours I managed to see rain / hail / sunshine. Just thought I’d share a few pics for you to view of the experience…….

Hello chaps…….
Thankyou for your kind comments…..
R.E. PIA 747, I have opened a new thread to discuss this on as not to get confused. (PIA 747 Landing)….
EAL King, Soccer AM , Ren, Oasis ???? Infact the “sun sheee ine” thing came from a culmination from both of the aformentioned pointers. As I drove home from Manchester whilst listning to the football on the radio all I could think of Messers Liam and Noel grinning as the blue half (quite amusingly!) stuffed the red half in the sun shee ine !! So yes ….. abit of both !

Not that I know of. If it has 3 upper deck windows, it’s definitely a -100. However, later versions of the -100 had the 10 upper deck windows of the -200. UPS has -100’s and -200’s so I don’t know about that joke.

This was posted on Plane-mad.com by someone called Sampol it says:
‘I whent to the airport today and took some pictures but not that many because
for about 30 mins no planes landed at manchester so me and my mate was waiting until PIA 747 (PH-BAT) looked like it had alot of turbolence so we was watching it come in to land.
It landed and we thought it was just taking it’s time to get off the runway
until SN BRUSSELS (146) made a go around, then a KLM(737) so we whent and looked and it had about 5 fire engines
behind it so we got a couple of pictures and we found out off this man that it landed to far down the runway
and had to brake immediately but it broke that much the brakes set on fire,
it was escorted to the gate were they
sorted it out for the next flight home.I whent to the airport today and took some pictures but not that many because

The B744 cargo plane does have the shorter upper deck, the way you can tell if it’s a 400 and not a 100/200 is the winglets and no windows along the body as they are built to be a dedicated freighter. Saying this, Cathay Pacific are going to be the launch customer for the B744 pax to freighter conversion, so this means it will have a stretched upper deck. CONFUSING
Hope this helps
😀

Great pictures Graham, particularly like the Astraeus as it’s the aircraft I flew to Egypt on a couple of years back! 😀
